My Experience as a Sig Quant Researcher Interviewee 🇺🇸

Recently, I had the opportunity to interview for a position as a Sig Quant Researcher, and it was quite the journey! 😩 The process took longer than I expected, but it was a valuable experience overall. Here’s an overview of the steps I went through and some key takeaways.

Initial Screening and Online Assessment

The first step involved an online assessment (OA) which I completed in just one hour. It consisted of 21 questions that tested my quantitative skills and analytical thinking. The overall difficulty level was manageable, making it an engaging challenge. To my surprise, I received the interview invitation the very next day after completing the assessment!

Interview Rounds

The interview process comprised a total of five rounds, which included:

  • Two HR Phone Interviews: These interviews focused on my background, motivation, and fit with the company culture.
  • Two Technical Phone Interviews: Here, I was tested on my technical skills and problem-solving abilities related to quant research.
  • Final Round: This was the most intense part, consisting of four back-to-back interviews. I tackled various technical questions and was required to complete a data exercise, along with a small project to showcase my skills.

Key Takeaways

1. **Preparation is Key:** Make sure to review relevant concepts and practice problem-solving questions in advance. This will help you feel more confident during the assessments and interviews.

2. **Stay Calm and Positive:** It can be overwhelming, especially with multiple rounds. Keeping a positive attitude can make the experience more enjoyable, and remember to take breaks in between interviews to recharge.

3. **Ask Questions:** Don’t hesitate to ask your interviewers questions about the role and the company. This shows your interest and can help you gauge if it’s the right fit for you.

Final Thoughts

Overall, while the process was lengthy and challenging, it provided me with valuable insights into the field of quant research. The experience taught me a lot about my strengths and areas for improvement. If you’re also preparing for such interviews, hang in there! Every bit of effort counts! 🌟

Let’s keep hoping for the best! Good luck to everyone out there going through similar experiences! 🙌
