If you’re dreaming of your next travel destination, let me take you to Kas, Turkey! 🌊 This coastal gem has everything a traveler could wish for, from stunning scenery to unforgettable experiences. The clear jelly-like waters are truly worth the hype. However, exploring this paradise comes with a price. Let’s dive into my journey and uncover some essential tips for your visit! ✈️

A Pricey Paradise

One thing I noticed right away was how rapidly prices have surged in Kas. When I visited in April, island-hopping tours were priced at 750 Turkish lira. By May, they had jumped to a staggering 1200 lira per person! 😱 We arrived at a time when only three boat operators were available, all charging the same rate with no room for negotiation.

The Grand Boat Tour: A Worthwhile Investment

We chose to embark on a recommended boat tour called Grand. Interestingly, the crew pulled out a video featuring recommendations from fellow travelers, and half of the guests were from China! 😂 Despite the initial concerns about pricing, the experience was stunning! A delicious lunch was included, and the beauty of the sea is hard to put into words. It’s a perfect spot for sunbathers.

Pro Tip: Make sure to choose a spot in the sun! 🌞 We made the rookie mistake of picking a shaded area, leaving us shivering from the chilly sea breeze. Bring thick towels and warm clothing, as temperatures can vary dramatically!

Photo Opportunities Galore

If you’re into photography, you must check out the ancient theater known as Andifli. The alley on the left leads to iconic photo spots, and the theater itself makes for a great backdrop! Don’t hesitate to wear something bright, like red, to make your photos pop! 📷

Dining Delights and Disappointments

While exploring dining options, avoid the restaurant “Keyf-i-Dem” at all costs. Although recommended on social platforms, my experience was disappointing. The prices were exorbitant, and the service felt pushy. A dish that was 290 lira in March had skyrocketed to 420 lira! 🥴

In contrast, I found a gem called Oz Nazilli that offers a much more reasonable menu, without any extra service fees. We were lucky to stumble upon it, and the grilled fish was delightful! 🍽️

Staying at Gardenia Hotel

When it comes to accommodation, we stayed at the Gardenia Hotel, conveniently close to the harbor. The atmosphere was lovely, and the complimentary breakfast was a treat! There were even two adorable tabby cats waiting patiently for some table scraps. I couldn’t resist sharing some of my pancakes with them! 🥞

Future Trips and Transportation

Before leaving, I grabbed the timetable for transportation from Fethiye to Kas (May 2024). Next time, I’m considering staying in a nearby town and returning to Kas for island-hopping adventures. 🚍
