First Stop in USA: Chicago 🇺🇸🥈
Originally, our trip to Chicago was canceled, but thankfully, we made it after all! Chicago is absolutely stunning! Contrary to its reputation as a crime-ridden city, it’s the quintessential image of America. 🏙️
Day 1
🍕 Giordano’s
We ordered the smallest portion for two, and we still couldn’t finish it! The deep-dish pizza here is a must-try!
📍 Millennium Park
From the iconic Cloud Gate (also known as the “Bean”) to the breathtaking Buckingham Fountain, this park is a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the city vibes. After visiting the fountains, we walked towards Navy Pier, where we were greeted with the stunning scenery shown in the fifth photo. The blue skies, lush greenery, and fresh breezes by the waterfront made for an incredibly pleasant experience!
📍 Skydeck
The view from the Skydeck during the day was simply breathtaking. Every skyscraper looked like it belonged in a LEGO city or a virtual world. It’s an unforgettable sight!
Day 2
☕ The World’s Largest Starbucks
I picked up a gorgeous travel tumbler here! It was an awesome stop for some coffee and souvenirs. 😍
🌇 River Walk
This was the main reason for our visit to Chicago! I absolutely loved the River Walk area, where you can take boat tours to admire the city’s architectural beauty. 🥰
🌭 Portillo’s & Barnelli’s
I found the food to be just average, but it was still an experience worth trying!
🌃 360 Chicago
While the night view is stunning, I still prefer the daytime scenery. It feels like the city comes alive with natural light!
🎭 Chicago Theater
This iconic theater is a great spot to catch a show or simply take pictures of its majestic exterior.
Day 3
🍔 McDonald’s University
The menu is updated weekly, so it’s a good idea to check online before deciding to visit. It’s a fun place for a quick bite! 🍔
🍿 Garrett Popcorn
While it was nice to taste, I think buying vacuum-sealed popcorn from the supermarket would suffice for a quick snack.
🍲 Chef’s Boat Hotpot
Be prepared for long wait times during peak hours! It’s a delightful dining option with an average spend of around $50 per person. 🔪
With the City Pass, we also explored several museums:
- 📍 Shedd Aquarium (not recommended)
- 📍 Adler Planetarium (visited via the back door just to catch the ride!)
- 📍 Museum of Science and Industry (highly recommended – so much to see!)
- 📍 The Art Institute of Chicago (a must-visit!)
Conclusion
Chicago has proven to be a gem filled with stunning views, rich culture, and delicious food. Whether it’s your first time or a return visit, the Windy City always has something new to offer. Enjoy your adventure in this beautiful American city! 🏙️✨
