Transforming Our Dream Home: A Renovation Journey in the Bay Area 🏡
After nearly six months of hard work, we are thrilled to announce that we have finally completed the renovation of our new home! From the initial stages of house maintenance, design considerations, and permit applications to the hard and soft installations, every step was meticulously planned. Although the journey was taxing and pricey, seeing our home transformed into a fresh and vibrant space made it all worthwhile! Our renovation philosophy was simple: the sooner you renovate, the sooner you get to enjoy it. We invested approximately $85,000, which covered every aspect of this extensive project. Here, I’d like to share our process and insights for anyone with similar home renovation plans. 🌟

🕐 Renovation Timeline
- Preparation Phase (2 months): This involved maintaining the house, learning from others’ renovation experiences, conceptualizing the renovation scope, finding designers and engineers, obtaining GC quotes, and finalizing our budget and timeline.
- Construction Phase (2 months): This phase included everything from tearing out the old to completing the installations. During this period, we made adjustments to our plans and closely monitored progress, which was crucial! This phase also accounted for waiting times for city inspections.
- Soft Decoration Phase (2 months): In this final phase, we added furniture and decorations, with some pieces being shipped via sea freight.
