Exploring Edison, New Jersey: A Foodie’s Paradise 🍽️

Edison, New Jersey, is truly a gastronomic treasure trove! Every time I visit, my classic itinerary always includes a satisfying meal ➡️ shopping at Hmart or the Great China Mall ➡️ indulging in a refreshing cup from Xian Yu Xian and some delightful pastries or cakes from Paris Baguette, before heading home with my goodies in tow.

My Top 4 Favorite Restaurants in Edison

Here are the four restaurants I frequent the most, each with at least three visits under my belt!

1️⃣ Xiang Shui Mountain Villa

Starting strong with delicious dishes like Wong Fei Hung’s Stir-fried Beef, Spicy Pepper Century Egg, Stir-fried Preserved Meats, Steamed Eggplant with Salted Egg Yolk, Three Mushrooms with Fresh Tripe, and Sour and Spicy Chicken Gizzards. 😆 I can safely say I rarely encounter any misses here! The only dish that didn’t impress me was the Chopped Chili Fish Head – it just didn’t taste as fresh.

2️⃣ Golden Soup Fish Maw Chicken

The moment you step inside, the aromatic smell captivates you! I’ve tried various hot pots, but my favorite remains the classic Golden Soup Fish Maw Chicken. The side dishes like Bamboo Fungus, Pumpkin, Yam, and Taro are all equally delightful. 👍 The small snacks, including Salt Crispy Chicken, Skewered Lamb, and Mango Sago meet expectations perfectly!

3️⃣ Shu Shi Spicy Pot

This is a regular stop for me, as nothing beats the happiness of devouring a hearty plate of spicy pot. If you’re not a spice aficionado, just going for mild will suffice. The selection in the pot includes rich dishes like Beef Tripe, Shrimp Paste, Octopus, Kidney, Chicken Gizzards, Beef Sheets, and flavorful Squid Tentacles. Also, don’t miss out on the delicious cold dishes like Piquant Chicken Feet and excellent mains such as Twice-cooked Pork and Sautéed Squid with Cauliflower. 😋

4️⃣ Spicy Space

I’ve tried Bullfrog, Grilled Fish, and Spicy Crab here. The standout dish for me is the Delicious Bullfrog 💯. The grilled snacks, especially the Grilled Pork Knuckles, are best served hot and are delightful! While items like grilled wings, grilled scallops, and Spicy Tofu are standard, it’s nice to enjoy them here in the U.S. Also, don’t overlook the starter Five-Spice Broad Beans and the dessert Guilinggao Milk Tea—they’re both fantastic!

Shopping and More Deliciousness

The last two restaurants are conveniently located near Hmart. It’s perfect for grabbing some drinks or desserts at Meet Fresh; I highly recommend the UBE Smoothie with Taro Paste! This blend of taro and purple yam slush is simply heavenly. 🥤

This plaza also houses Paris Baguette, solving the breakfast dilemma effortlessly. I frequently return for their delightful coffee-flavored pastries and the Blueberry Yogurt Cake, which are must-tries.
