Hello everyone! I’m a hiring manager at Google, and I’m excited to announce that we have openings for a new L5 Machine Learning Team Lead (ML TL) in our product recommendation and modeling group.

About Our Team

Our group focuses on enhancing product recommendations through core modeling and algorithm development, which involves:

• End-to-End Modeling for Recommendation Systems: We handle the modeling for over 2 billion users, focusing on recall, ranking, and user behavior modeling, including real-time training and long-sequence modeling.
• Proactive AI Initiatives: We integrate large language models (LLMs) with recommendations and develop a series of AI-generated content products, ensuring personalized user experiences.

Job Description

The new headcount for this position is L5, and candidates will lead the algorithm side. We are open to internal transfers and external candidates alike. Here are the requirements:

• A robust machine learning background; ideally, a PhD or a Master’s with rich experience in relevant domains.
• Several years of experience working with large-scale systems in search recommendation or in a core algorithm group for LLMs.
• Familiarity with state-of-the-art research and real-world applications in the field.
• Experience in team leadership roles.
• Work location is in Mountain View (MTV).
• International candidates (from regions like China or Europe) will be considered, but they must have strong English skills and appropriate visa sponsorship (like O-1) if required.
