A Month of Reunion: Fond Memories and Delicious Farewells

A month filled with family gatherings has slipped by too quickly. This morning, my husband flew back to Hong Kong, and after adjusting to the time difference, he will head to Shaolin Temple in Henan to support our oldest during a martial arts competition…

Our youngest child is gradually getting used to such farewells. This morning, upon waking up and noticing his father’s absence, a hint of sadness filled his eyes. When I explained, “Dad went to pick up your brother. He’ll be back with him in 47 days,” his mood brightened again.

Dining Experience at Autumn Gold in Irvine

Our latest adventure included a meal at Autumn Gold, which has been trending among our friends in Irvine. After dropping my daughter off at her Latin dance class yesterday, we decided to celebrate with a farewell dinner, and it certainly lived up to the hype! ✌️

About the Environment

  • The seating is diverse, accommodating various types of gatherings 🎈.
  • The restaurant is newly opened, with all amenities in pristine condition.

About the Service

  • The service was attentive and quick to recommend signature dishes based on our preferences.
  • They efficiently cleared empty plates from the table, allowing us to enjoy our meal without interruptions.

About the Food

We came primarily for the authentic flavors, and the taste did not disappoint! The dishes were bursting with flavor—and definitely true to their roots! 🌶️

  • Spicy Pickled Beef Tripe: Each piece was large and satisfying. The pickling method infused it with incredible flavor that was utterly addictive!
  • Spicy Chicken Cubes: Made with tender chicken thighs, the dish was golden and crunchy. Contrary to its appearance, it balanced spice and fragrance perfectly, and the crispy peanuts added a delightful crunch.
  • Twice-Cooked Pork (Hui Guo Rou): The pork was succulent, with clear layers of fat and meat. The addition of Chinese sausage elevated the flavor even further. I particularly loved the big green onions paired with the savory pork, making every bite truly enjoyable.
  • Ma Po Tofu: Exceptional with rice, this dish was spicy yet not overwhelming, making it suitable for kids; even my daughter couldn’t stop raving about it!

‼️‼️‼️ In addition to the spicy Sichuan fare, we also ordered non-spicy options for our youngest: corn chicken cubes, handmade rice cakes, and egg fried noodles—offering plenty of choices for our little one who isn’t a fan of spice!

Final Thoughts

As true food lovers, our visit to Autumn Gold was a culinary delight, providing us with comfort food that made our temporary goodbyes a bit sweeter. With its vibrant atmosphere and diverse menu, it’s a must-visit for anyone in the Irvine area! 🌟
