Discovering Flushing’s Hidden Culinary Gem

Discovering Flushing’s Hidden Culinary Gem

Last December 30th, I visited a remarkable restaurant in Flushing for the first time, and I couldn’t wait to share my experience! Here we are now, three months later, and I find myself returning to this gem whenever I’m unsure about what to eat. In just two months, I’ve already visited about five times! 🍽️ So here’s a long-overdue recommendation for this fantastic spot!

A Journey to the Heart of Uyghur Cuisine

On my most recent visit, I decided to explore their Xinjiang Fried Rice Noodles. While I typically savor their noodles, I was curious about this dish. However, I found the flavor to be quite different from what I expected. With hints of curry and no spiciness, it didn’t align with the traditional taste of Xinjiang fried rice noodles. But for those who can’t handle spice, this is an excellent option! 😅

Indulging in Flavorful Meats and Noodles

Now let’s talk about the real stars of the menu! Their Guo You Rou (fried pork), Spicy Pork, and various mixed noodles are simply divine! The noodles have a delightful chewiness and are freshly pulled, giving them a unique texture that leaves a sweet aftertaste. As a Southern eater who usually doesn’t gravitate towards noodles, I found myself enjoying every bit of it! My friend from Lanzhou even exclaimed that this is the essence of real noodles! 🥔🍜

Hearty Dishes for the Soul

The Big Plate Chicken was another standout item. Often, I find the chicken in this dish can be overcooked and lack flavor, but that was far from the case here! Rich in aromatic spices, along with potatoes and perfectly chewy noodles, every bite was a delight. Talking about deliciousness, this dish truly epitomizes comfort food! 🌟

A Touch of Uyghur Tradition

Let’s not forget about their Naan Filled with Meat – packed with juicy meat and a tantalizing flavor. Sadly, I forgot to snap a photo when I took it to-go, but I can assure you it is immense and satisfying!

Refreshing Beverages

Their milk tea transports you straight to Central Asia, boasting a creamy texture that is neither super sweet nor overly salty, with a delightful layer of milk skin that I absolutely adore! ☕️

Affordable Portions and Friendly Staff

The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are extraordinarily budget-friendly. You might encounter a young male staff member who doesn’t speak Mandarin, but the chef is incredibly friendly and fluent! The restaurant is conveniently located on the first floor of the hotel across from Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant:

Final Thoughts

If you ever find yourself in Flushing, this should be on your must-try list! The experience of authentic Uyghur cuisine combined with friendly service makes for a memorable dining outing. Dive into the rich flavors and generous portions that await you! 🍜❤️
