Strawberry Dreams: A Return to Farms View Roadstand 🍓

Last year’s strawberry memories were simply delightful! So, as soon as this year’s strawberry season kicked off, I couldn’t wait to rush back to the same farm—Farms View Roadstand. The experience did not disappoint! This blog serves as my “return visit” documentation, along with a few updates for this year’s strawberry-picking adventure.

Getting There 🚗

If you’re driving from Haddon or anywhere in New Jersey, you’re in for a treat. I recommend avoiding the morning rush hour to have a smoother journey! The farm offers a free parking lot—while it’s a gravel road, it’s well-maintained and conveniently located right at the entrance. This year, it felt less crowded since many might not have realized the picking season is upon us!

Picking Season

The strawberry picking season typically runs from mid-May to early June, and I suggest going either in the morning or during the cooler evening hours for a more comfortable experience.

Pricing

This year, the prices haven’t increased! The strawberries are priced by the pound—around $5.5 per pound, with an entrance fee of $5 per person (children count too!). The farm provides boxes, but I noticed some visitors brought their own baskets, which is totally cool!

Quality and Variety

Currently, the strawberries are small but bursting with flavor! Admittedly, this year’s rain has kept them fragrant, though they aren’t as sweet as last year’s batch. I wonder if they’ll become sweeter in the coming weeks!

What to Bring

Don’t forget your sunscreen, hat, and plenty of water! Wear comfortable shoes, and I recommend letting the little ones wear old clothes—muddy areas are part of the fun!

Farm Market & More Activities 🛍️

The market next to the farm is still charming and a must-visit! You can find fresh produce, handmade jams, delicious ice creams, and delightful desserts. We stocked up on goodies to take home and enjoy. TIP: Make sure to buy the homegrown veggies—they’re way tastier than supermarket veggies!

The kids will especially love seeing the adorable farm animals—those little chicks, calves 🐮, and donkeys 🫏 are just too cute!

Floral Market: A Special Recommendation 🌸

Just like last year, we also strolled through the flower section. This year, there’s an even greater variety of stunning blooms with vibrant colors! We bought two pots of flowers to brighten up our home, making our day even better! 😊😎
