Delicious Eats Around NYU: Food Adventures Await! 🍕
As students at New York University (NYU) settle into the hustle and bustle of city life, a common trope emerges—gaining those infamous fifteen pounds! With NYU’s prime location, students have access to an incredible variety of food options that make it difficult to resist indulging. Today, we’ll take a deep dive into NYU’s dining halls and the delectable restaurants nearby, helping everyone keep fit this semester! 😄
Dining Halls at NYU 🎓
Third North / Downstein / Lipton
These dining halls offer excellent value with their buffet-style meals. A single meal swipe allows you to enjoy all you can eat! Don’t miss out on 3N’s famous ice cream, a true highlight. Downstein has a solid variety of flavors and dishes, but be prepared to wait in long lines during peak hours. If you’re not a fan of waiting, choose wisely! And make sure to grab Lipton’s renowned cookies—they are irresistible!
Upstein / Dunkin’
Upstein serves up delicious chicken sandwiches, shakes, juices, and acai bowls, though be forewarned, service can be slow. Dunkin’ is your go-to spot for bagels, wraps, sandwiches, donuts, and a selection of sweet beverages to complement your meal.
Kimmel / Palladium
These dining halls operate on a marketplace model, where each box counts as a meal swipe. Perfect for using up your meal swipes at the end of the semester! They offer American-style Chinese food with the most varied menu across all dining halls. Highly recommend stopping by the pizza and chicken tender stations, which are two of my favorites! 🍗
Restaurants Nearby 🍜
Uluh
This Sichuan cuisine spot is a must-visit! With dishes like spicy pig trotters, sauerkraut fish, crab tofu, and chicken soup, there’s no room for disappointment; however, be prepared to wait as it’s quite popular!
Fish Cheeks
A Thai seafood restaurant where fresh oysters, pork neck, and crab meat curry will leave your taste buds amazed. This spot stands out for its innovative flavors and quality dishes.
Hunan Slurp
One of the finest Hunan restaurants on the island! Try the Moutai boneless pig trotters and stir-fried pork with egg for a spicy and savory treat that pairs perfectly with rice.
La Lanterna di Vittorio
Famous for having been visited by Taylor Swift, this century-old Italian restaurant near Kimmel serves incredible pizzas and tiramisu that will have you coming back for more! 🍰
The NYU Experience 🏙️
It’s often said that entering NYU results in an average weight gain of fifteen pounds. However, students usually experience a 150% boost in career awareness as well! Organizations like 3sigma have a keen interest in NYU students due to the competitive environment here, which prepares them for the demanding job market in North America. Many have found internships as early as their freshman year by strategically planning their career pathways.
Every year, NYU students joining 3sigma see their growth accelerate, allowing them to enjoy the culinary freedoms of NYC while securing job offers—talk about a win-win! Transitioning from NYU to Wall Street might just mean your favorite restaurants remain the same, but your life trajectory will be wildly different.

We welcome even more students to join this vibrant community! If you have any career planning questions or need advice, don’t hesitate to ask—they’re always happy to help fellow NYUers.
