Exploring Hot Air Balloon Adventures in Seoul: A Must-Do Experience! 🎈

Are you ready to embark on an unforgettable adventure in Seoul? Let’s take you to the skies with a magical hot air balloon experience! This blog will guide you through everything you need to know before you go, ensuring you make the most of this unique outing. So, let’s dive in! 👀

Location & Getting There

🗺️ Address: 여의공원로 68-1 서울달
To reach this incredible park, take the subway line 9 to the 국회의사당 station and exit through gate 3. Walk straight, and once you spot a convenience store, you know you’ve arrived at the park!

Ticket Information

💵 Tickets are only available for reservation online, meaning you can skip the long lines upon arrival. However, you still need to purchase the tickets on-site. Here’s the price breakdown:
– Adult: 25,000 KRW (approximately $19)
– Children (Ages 3-12): 15,000 KRW (approximately $11.50)
– Teenagers (Ages 13-18): 20,000 KRW (approximately $15)
*Prices may vary based on current exchange rates.

Reservation & Waiting Tips

1️⃣ To secure your spot, make a reservation on Naver. Due to the rising popularity, close dates often become fully booked (for instance, I booked on the 3rd for the 6th and it was already full)! Note that flights are not available every Monday.
2️⃣ Check the official website for announcements about extreme weather conditions to avoid wasted trips.
3️⃣ If you can, plan to arrive early: during less busy times, expect a wait of at least 30 minutes. On a rainier day when I visited, the crowd was sparse, and I only waited for just two flights. The staff mentioned that under normal conditions, an hour wait is typical—especially if you aim to catch the sunset! Last flights stop at 10 PM, and the total flight time is around 15 minutes.

Language Assistance

🌍 Most staff members speak basic English, making communication a bit easier. For purchasing tickets, self-service kiosks are available with instructions in Chinese. You’ll need to scan a QR code and fill out safety information in the waiting area (also in Chinese). Before boarding, staff will explain safety instructions, so don’t forget to listen carefully! Balance is key while on the balloon, so try to resist jumping around for those perfect shots.

Photography Opportunities 📷

While flying, you’ll have two opportunities to capture breathtaking photos:
1. Before takeoff, you can pose with the hot air balloon on the ground. (The photography skills may vary!)
2. Once you’re in the air, the pilot will guide you to a special spot on the balloon for some stellar shots. I advise you to take your best photos from the pilot’s area, where the views are stunning!

Final Tips for Your Adventure

✅ **Weather Precaution:** Be aware that high-altitude winds can be quite strong; ensure your hair is styled appropriately!
✅ **Nighttime Photos:** Use a flashlight to enhance your photos at night for a magical ambiance.
✅ **Interesting Fact:** The hot air balloon can rise to altitudes of up to 130 meters—just like an airplane! It operates on helium and is tethered for safety, accommodating a maximum weight of 45 tons. The same balloons can also be found in Paris, Orlando, and Budapest! While the flight is generally smooth, be prepared for some bumps during the landing.

‼️ Always follow staff instructions for a safe and enjoyable experience. Be ready for an adventure you won’t forget! #SeoulAdventures #SeoulHotAirBalloon #KoreaFun #BucketListExperience
