Itinerary & Attractions Evaluation 📸

Day 1: San Francisco to Carmel

1. Half Moon Bay: ⭐⭐⭐

   The beach views are quite ordinary. If you’re short on time, you can skip this stop.

2. 17 Mile Drive: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

   Offering breathtaking ocean views and lush vegetation, it’s worth spending 2-3 hours leisurely exploring (check out the amazing photos in images 3-6)!

3. Carmel Sunset Beach: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

   With towering trees along the coast, this picturesque spot has a serene atmosphere (see images 7-8). Plus, you can’t miss the adorable dogs frolicking around (image 9)—the vibe here is truly lively!

Day 2: Carmel to San Luis Obispo (SLO)

1. Bixby Creek Bridge: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

   The views here are simply stunning! The steep cliffs meet crashing waves and the clear blue sea perfectly (image 10), making it a must-stop destination!

2. Pfeiffer Beach (Purple Sand Beach): ⭐⭐⭐

   Despite the cloudy weather that dulls the purple sands, we had fun hunting for starfish, crabs, and sea urchins among the rocks.

   Caution: The road beyond McWay Falls is currently closed, requiring a return trip. You’ll need to head along Highway 101 to your next destination, adding about 3 hours to your journey. For closure updates, check the California Department of Transportation website.

3. Piedras Blancas Elephant Seal Rookery: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

   This beach features a large colony of elephant seals basking in the sun. Their adorable calls are amusing, but the smell is quite “unique”! 🤣

4. Morro Bay T Pier/Coleman Park to See Sea Otters: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

   A must-visit for sea otter lovers 🦦! (image 11) Watching them wrap themselves in seaweed to prevent drifting away while they sleep is irresistibly cute! 😂

Day 3: SLO to Santa Barbara

1. Solvang (Danish Town): ⭐⭐⭐

   Don’t forget to snap a picture with the iconic Solvang Windmill (image 12). The charming bakeries and artisanal shops are a delight to explore! 🍪

2. Santa Barbara (Spanish Town): ⭐⭐⭐⭐

   The Old Mission Church makes for beautiful photos (images 13-14), while the County Courthouse boasts a clock tower you can climb (image 15) from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM—it’s closed on weekends. We also considered going whale watching, though we didn’t have time on this trip.

Day 4: Santa Barbara to Los Angeles
