  • Marriage to a U.S. Citizen: If you obtained your green card through marriage to a U.S. citizen, then you only need to have held your green card for at least three years and must have lived in the U.S. for at least 18 months prior to your application.
  • Residency Requirement: You must have resided in the state where you’re applying for at least three months before filing the N-400 application.
