My EB5 Experience: A Journey to the USA Green Card

After completing my undergraduate studies in the USA and returning home to work for a year, I decided to pursue a master’s degree back in the States. Initially, I began the OPT (Optional Practical Training) route but soon realized that the H1B pathway did not suit me. I sought flexibility and the chance to start my own business. options like the EB1A were not feasible right after graduation, and the NIW seemed too slow. I also dismissed other dubious methods. However, after some contemplation, I looked into the EB5 program, particularly the new regulations, and realized there’s a lot of misinformation out there.

My EB5 journey was quite challenging, to say the least. 😵 One of my primary fears was falling victim to scams, as I had encountered that before. So, I dove deep into research, evaluating various projects along the way.

The project I chose was focused on rural development. I won’t disclose the specific project since the spots filled up quickly—well-reputed projects are often highly sought after. Remember, the new EB5 regulations require investments in rural, infrastructure, or high-unemployment areas.

Conclusion

My journey through the EB5 process has been one of personal and professional growth. I hope that in sharing my timeline and insights, others may find guidance or reassurance in navigating their own immigration pathways to the USA. Stay tuned for my next article, where I will share more about how I evaluated projects and made my decision. 🌟
