Farewell to My Etsy Adventure: A Reflective Journey

As I formally bid farewell to my Etsy shop, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey over the past ten months. What started as a side hustle with zero experience evolved into an enriching adventure, where I learned not only about products but also about the wonderful customers who supported me along the way.

The Journey Begins

Starting out with little to no knowledge, I launched my Etsy store and relied entirely on organic traffic. Over ten months, I sold a total of 60 orders, generating less than $10,000 in revenue (most of which unfortunately went to shipping costs). However, amidst the challenges, I was thrilled to receive 40 five-star reviews! 🌟

Learning and Growth

Throughout this experience, I delved into the world of fabrics, sizes, and styles, slowly uncovering the preferences of various customers. Each sale was not just about numbers but also about building connections with the people behind the orders. My customers were incredibly kind and supportive—some even sent me small gifts, shared their life stories, or sent pictures of the items they received. Each interaction warmed my heart and reinforced my passion for this creative pursuit.

A New Direction

Despite all the love and support, I realized that scaling production was not feasible. So, I’ve decided to change gears and venture into web development! 💻 My goal is to find a path that could potentially lead me to even greater opportunities—perhaps one that will allow me to resign from my current job eventually.
